Up next in our team spotlight series is Kieron, our newest Transport Planner, who joined us at the start of March!
What is your role and what does a typical day look like for you?
As a Transport Planner, I am responsible for planning deliveries for our vehicles and drivers across our operating centres. This also includes communicating effectively with both our drivers and our customers to ensure the customer receives their goods as and when expected.
When did you join the Dennis Distribution team?
I have very recently joined the team at Dennis Distribution and have now been here for around three weeks!
What is your favourite thing about your role?
As a whole, I really enjoy working in the transport industry and learning both individually and from the team that I have joined! Working specifically as a transport planner means I have been able to improve my geographical knowledge which I find very interesting.
What is your favourite thing about working at Dennis Distribution?
Since recently joining, I have really enjoyed being part of such a welcoming team! They have made it especially easy and have offered help right from the beginning.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies or interests?
Outside of work you will usually find me playing some kind of sport, whether it’s football, basketball or even cricket. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career similar to yours?
I would advise anyone pursuing a career in transport to always ask questions, even if they might seem silly, and get stuck in!
